As soon as Qin Youyou entered the door, he heard the smashing and crashing of crockery coming from the bedroom. He panicked and quickly changed his shoes to rush in.
The floor was covered in smashed plates and dishes, the food scattered everywhere.
Wei Dong was kneeling on the floor on one leg, unable to use his injured one. His back was arched slightly, and with one hand supporting him, he was using a towel to wipe up the mess on the floor.
Qin Youyou’s soul almost left his body from fright. He rushed up to snatch the towel away. “What happened Ge? How did this happen? How did you get down here?!”
Wei Dong stared at him, slightly dazed.
Without further preamble, Qin Youyou grabbed Wei Dong’s arm and slung it around his shoulder, exerting all of his strength to take him towards the bed. Wei Dong gritted his teeth, reluctantly sitting down on the bed.
“Are you injured? Does your leg hurt? Don’t you know you still can’t bend over?!” Qin Youyou’s faced was flushed. He inspected him from head to toe. “Do you hurt anywhere, Ge? Quickly tell me if it hurts!”
Wei Dong just stared with bloodshot at him for the longest time.
“You came back…” he said.
His voice was hoarse and filled with such torment, Qin Youyou couldn’t help but burst out into tears instantly. He choked up as he looked at the mess on the floor then looked back at Wei Dong. “What did you do…”
“I couldn’t help it,” Wei Dong said. “My head is messed up, Youyou.”
Qin Youyou chewed his lip, unable to stop his tears from falling down.
He actually shouldn’t have cried—he should have watched Wei Dong fall apart with indifference, allowing him to feel the pain so he could wake up.
But how could Qin Youyou bear to do that? He cried like a fool, his two eyes filled with tears as he looked at Wei Dong. He could only take a breath, one after the other, unable to say a word.
“I shouldn’t have hurt you like that, Youyou… I dropped something and wanted to clean it up myself. You’re already tired, every day you’re so tired, I shouldn’t…”
Qin Youyou couldn’t stay crouched anymore—his entire body was trembling. He got up and sat next to Wei Dong’s feet.
Wei Dong’s tears streamed down dripping off the tip of his nose. He looked at Qin Youyou.
Qin Youyou wiped away his tears and stubbornly continued staring at him.
“I can’t take it, Youyou. I thought I could do it…” Wei Dong’s voice was rough. He was not someone who usually exposed his emotions, but this time he truly was unable to control it.
“I feel too much pain… I don’t want you to have to suffer with me, but if you leave me for someone else… My heart will be ripped out again…” His voice was trembling and he tried to control it. “… Tell me what I should do? Youyou, tell me what I should do…”
The words flowed out of Wei Dong’s mouth, and reached like a hand straight to Qin Youyou’s heart, gripping and twisting it, the agonising pain making him unable to breathe.
Wei Dong never showed weakness. Before meeting Qin Youyou, he didn’t have any weaknesses. But after meeting Qin Youyou, he didn’t hold back—he did everything he should do for him, and then pointed at his own heart and said, This will always belong to you, but you will always be free.
He never lost control, and he never fell apart. He kept walking at his own pace with his own convictions.
But now he has nothing left.
Other than this heart which was struggling along only for Qin Youyou, he really had nothing else.
Qin Youyou kept wiping at his tears, but they kept falling down.
He gritted his teeth and choked out, “I don’t know what you should do, Ge. You should think about it. Think about it yourself.”
Then he turned around and began to pick up the broken crockery, shard by shard, carefully putting them into the bin. Then he cleaned up the scattered food on the floor, and finally mopped everything up.
Wei Dong kept staring at him, his eyes following Qin Youyou’s movements, seemingly lost in thought.
Qin Youyou finished cleaning up and then went to the bathroom to get water to wash his hands.
Wei Dong didn’t move.
Qin Youyou waited for a moment without saying anything. Grabbing a stool, he placed the basin on it, then bent over to place Wei Dong’s hand in it. He splashes some water on it, rubbed it a few times and then used the soap to carefully slather it on.
From his wrist to his palm, from the tips of his fingers to the fingernails.
His tears dripped in to the water but Qin Youyou didn’t pay them any mind as he meticulously washed that hand.
Wei Dong lowered his eyes and looked at that soft hair.
“Did you… Really sleep with him?”
Qin Youyou looked up at him. “Yes.”
Wei Dong stared. After a long time, a tear slowly fell as he blinked, lazily running down his face.
His heart had been torn open, and blood was flowing from the cavity. Wei Dong’s brain was filled with static, and everything hurt. He didn’t think he’d felt this much pain even when his bones had been crushed by excavator.
Qin Youyou lowered his head and continued to wash both hands, then gently wiped them dry with a towel.
His hands were trembling fiercely, and his heart was trembling just as bad. Other than for his beating heart, his breathing, all those automatic motions, his entire body felt numb. If he pinched his leg right now, he probably wouldn’t feel any pain.
He picked up the basin and stood up to go to the bathroom. Suddenly, Wei Dong grabbed his arm and the basin crashed to the ground, soaking the floor with the water it had held. Qin Youyou cried out from the shock, and then was pushed down in to the bed, his clothes being torn open.
“What are you doing—” Qin Youyou’s shock had changed his face, his swollen eyes glaring at Wei Dong.
“Let me see…”
Wei Dong’s voice was shaky, but his hands were fierce. He’d been diligently exercising every day according to the doctor’s instructions, never slacking. Although his legs were still not ready to use used, his upper body strength was even stronger than before. He grabbed hold of Qin Youyou’s two delicate wrists with one hand and held them above his head, as his other hand pulled at his clothing.
Qin Youyou’s tears fell down but he dared not struggle, worried he would hit against Wei Dong’s injuries. He could only turn his body over to hide while he cried, “What are you doing? Don’t do this…”
Wei Dong’s hands were like iron pliers—he was unable to break away from them.
His clothing had been thinned from years of use and a multitude of washes. His shirt was torn from the collar, the buttons scattering everywhere. The back of Qin Youyou’s neck reddened from where it had pulled.
Wei Dong looked at his fair, heaving abdomen, the flat surface and the ribs that were showing on the sides…
He reached out and started to undo Qin Youyou’s pants.
Qin Youyou cried out. “Enough, Ge, don’t do this…”
Wei Dong remained silent even as his leg began to ache, but he didn’t pay it any mind—he simply lifted the leg to hold down Qin Youyou.
Qin Youyou was petite, and he was soon stripped naked. His trembling body was completely exposed to Wei Dong.
There were no suspicious marks, only the slightly reddened ones from when he’s pulled the clothing.
Wei Dong grabbed him by the shoulder and lifted him onto the pillow. Before Qin Youyou could think of moving, Wei Dong lifted his leg and held up, exposing his entrance. Wei Dong’s finger touched around it a few times, then pushed it directly in.
A scream laced with sobs came out, and Qin Youyou’s entire body twisted…
They didn’t do it.
The entrance was tight, dry and untouched, not at all like if they had done it.
Wei Dong pulled out his finger, his entire body losing strength. He slowly lay down on the pillow next to him, panting heavily as he closed his eyes.
Qin Youyou was sobbing so hard he could barely breathe. He was trembling so violently, curled up into a ball.
Wei Dong lifted his arms and pulled him into an embrace.
Qin Youyou grabbed onto his shirt, trembling from pain.
“I’m sorry,” Wei Dong said. “I’m insane…”
Qin Youyou rested his head on his chest, panting and sobbing for a bit, until he managed to speak from his cry-swollen throat. “You hurt me so much…”
Wei Dong held on to Qin Youyou tightly and closed his eyes, with no more energy to say anything further.
